The portable ash meter WALKER is used to measure the ash content of coal accumulated in piles and to carry out measurements in wagons or cars. The method of measuring ash content in coal used in the device is based on the measurement of the intensity of natural gamma radiation of coal, thanks to which no artificial radiation source is used.
